Yesterday at work I performed a test on an iPad 2 that had been treated by the people at http://www.liquipel.com
The treated iPad 2 looks identical to an untreated iPad 2.
For the test, I submerged an untreated iPad 2 in normal tap water. I then submerged a LiquiPel treated iPad in the same container with the normal tap water.
The test, so far, has been surprising, and cool.
The surprising part was that the untreated iPad 2 was still playing a video even after being submerged for approximately 1 minute! However, the untreated iPad definitely was having issues as a result of being submerged in water.
The LiquiPel treated iPad also continued to play a video when it was submerged - but it has not show ANY signs of damage from that water!
I know that this is not a great photo, but if you look at the iPad on the left, it is having some video issues - the contrast is way off and it keeps flickering. The iPad on the right is the LiquiPel treated iPad and appears to be functioning normally.
I will have to admit, I was not very optimistic prior to this test. The LiquiPel treated iPad did not appear any different. From what I could see, it looked like LiquiPel just turned around and shipped my iPad back to me without doing anything but taking my money.
However, after this test, it was pretty clear that the LiquiPel has saved the "life" of this iPad!
I'll continue subjecting my treated iPad to various tests to ensure that the LiquiPel coating keeps on protecting the device - but as of right now, I am a believer! This stuff is really cool!
Maybe I'll write my next blog post from the iPad, while I am showering! (I will NOT have any photos from that test though!)
LiquiPel, keep up the good work!
